OUR SPIRIT

Morocco is a diverse country with deep roots, different languages, and rich culture, that still holds many surprises and treasures beyond the tourist facade.
In Morocco Unfiltered, we want to share this beauty and preserve its authenticity, by introducing you to different cultural facets of the country: its know-how in handicraft, agriculture, music, food, its history and celebrations, its landscapes, but also its people, heart of the country.
We aim to bridge the gap between you and the locals, allowing you to share and learn about their culture through various activities and experiences.
We want to provide a way to open the door to the real Morocco as we know it, without any filters.
- Our activities are participatory and immersive : you are not just an observer, but an active participant in your cultural learning. We believe that to discover another culture, it is important to experience it.
You will have the opportunity to learn about Moroccan music, agriculture, craftsmanship, art, local cuisine, or simply share the Moroccan way of life. - Our activities are authentic, rooted in local culture : they are not formated for Western tourism. We want you to have access to the know-how and way of life as they are in Morocco.
- All our trips are private, and our experiences are conducted in small groups to prioritize human interaction with locals and respect the territory.
- Our experiences adapt to local customs. Be ready to step out of your comfort zone and routines.
- Supporting and promoting locals and the territory is one our priorities.
- In order to immerse yourself in the culture, feel free to ask any questions or show curiosity. All our local partners and ourselves will be happy to share this with you.
OUR TEAM
A collaboration between young travelers and locals …
Morocco Unfiltered was built by Mohamed Tarek and Natacha, as a wish for collaboration between travelers and locals.
“We are young individuals with different origins and backgrounds, united by the same passion for travelling and exploring, and by our love for people, nature, and world’s diversity. We seek to discover different cultures and to learn from it with respect.”

MOHAMED TArek
Founder, experiences creator, travel advisor, Cooking Teacher

Mohamed Tarek is Moroccan and has lived among the Berber Tribes in the Middle Atlas. Passionate about history, culture, and nature, he has traveled extensively throughout his country and possesses a profound knowledge of Moroccan culture that he cherishes. His wish is to share his insights with others, allowing them to truly experience it as he does.
“I traveled and worked in various tourism-related jobs for 8 years, having the pleasure to meet incredible travelers along the way. My desire to share the real Morocco and its unique history, people and traditional way of life led me to build different cultural experiences for foreigners, that would allow them to discover this rich country far from the illusions of tourism, and with a way that would respect and transmit the local traditions, helping them to remain strong.”
As a Chef, Mohamed is always open to share stories about Morocco over a good meal.

NATACHA
Founder, experiences creator, travel advisor, webdesign

Natacha adopted Morocco after traveling many times off the beaten paths in the country. As a french woman alone in these untouched places, she went deep in the Moroccan culture. By trying to learn the language to get closer with people, playing music with Berbers and Arabs, climbing and hiking in remote places with locals, reading and discussing history and religion, all of which making the soul and way of life of Moroccans, she understood how Morocco is beautiful but still unknown to many foreigners.
“As an art and nature lover, I see it everywhere in Morocco. Everything is a true enrichment : different langages between regions, different arts, different musics, different handicrafts, different foods, and most of all, different perspectives and thoughts.
The amazing people and friends I met in Morocco inspired me and brought me to the wish to share these discoveries with others, and celebrate this culture so much richer and complex than what we can see in social medias and touristic images.”

Special thanks and big gratitude to Charles, who helped us to make it real.

OUR STORY
“We met as co-workers in a hostel in Essaouira. We shared our visions of travelling, built many cultural experiences as cooking or art activities with locals, and saw the result of it : foreigners could finally have access to a hidden face of Morocco, the most authentic, and the locals were happy to share their roots. The time to build our own way to make this dream come true had come, and we decided to create Morocco Unfiltered together, in collaboration with the local people we know, working with them as members of the team.”
We value cultural exchanges and firmly believe that our different origins and backgrounds are assets that enable us to complement each other as a team. We wish to give locals and foreigners a way to open to each other as we did.
That is how we want to offer you unique travel experiences, strengthened by our diversity as they are built with the visions of locals and uncommon travelers, all working together with respect and knowledge of this beautiful culture.”
